Knights' Chronicles

Normally, I jump on here, write up what everyone was playing, that things were super fun, and those of you that didn't make it sorely missed out. While all that was true, I want to write today about the awesome that happened after hours. That awesome is Deathwatch and Dark Heresy!

After some well timed destruction of the peace talks from an over eager Space Wolf, things went a bit south, with the arrival of some Chaos Space Marines. Thankfully, Huron decided he had bigger fish to fry than a Deathwatch Marine with an over active frontal cortex. As Kyzen disappears into the ducts to move with unnatural speed, taking up a position behind the attacking force, the majority of the Space Marines move to confront the forces of Chaos. Meanwhile, Arsenic and Wraith, escorted by Brother Nigh move in the opposite direction to try and find some safety for the humans(after Huron explains to Arsenic that maybe facing Space Marines isn't his best move). Of course, at this time, a large number of Chaos Cultists make their appearance in the opposite direction. Wraith, using cameras planted on the way in and after the meetings untimely end, keeps track of the going ons of most of the battle. Brothers Arn and Belafon engage the Chaos Marines, but the tight quarters hamper their effectiveness. Kyzen starts to make short work of the rear guard, and moves in on the Sorcerer. Brother Belafon is the first to fall, going down to sorcerous power, which has the unfortunate effective of cooking off his grenades, cause mortal wounds to Arn. Arn, sensing that his end is near, puts all of his considerable will into the destruction of the foe, and with the aide of Kyzen, slaughters the remain Chaos Marines.

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the meeting room, the remainder of the party runs into their own trouble. The asteroid is starting to break apart. With breaches forming the way they had come, Wraith is almost sucked into space. Arsenic shuts the door, seemingly leaving Wraith to her fate, though she is protected by a void suit. Nigh, however, feels he can save her, and after Arsenic steps through another door, shuts that door, opens the first, switches places with Wraith and closes himself in the quickly venting meeting room. Alone, and with no idea the fate of Joseph Arsenic, Wraith finds herself a mere observer for the remainder of the event.
Joseph Arsenic is not lost however, and when confronted by thirty plus armed guardsmen, he does the only thing he can do. He uses his considerable presence and sheer aura of authority to tell the men of Chaos to stand down. They have no option to comply to the will of Judge Arsenic. With the forces of Chaos defeated, our heroes can return to the peace talks.

But wait, upon turning from their fight, the brother of the Deathwatch discover the bodies of both the Red Scorpions' and Mantis Warriors' Chapter Masters dead. How could these measly Chaos fools have done such a terrible dead with Arn and Belafon attacking them relentlessly? Sensing betrayal, the returning Brother Nigh probes Lord Huron's mind deeply, looking for the answer. There, deep in his psychy, he learns the truth, Huron himself had a hand in this tragedy! Understanding the truth Brother Nigh leaps at the Tyrant, driving him back. Infuriated by the deaths, the lies, and his own pain, Brother Arn screams into battle, grievously wounding Huron, before the traitor makes another cowardly escape.
With one foe gone, Brother Arn turns to a new threat, Astral Claws barring Red Scorpions from reclaiming their fallen lord. In a last final act, Arn hand his relic blade to Brother Nigh, and leaps upon the Terminators, opening a hole for his brothers and the Red Scorpions with his final breath.

With the asteroid falling apart, all the loyalists collect their dead and make good their own retreat, knowing, that one day, they would enact their retribution upon the Tyrant of Badab!

Brother Arn, we lament your passing and hope to honour your sacrifice. We can only hope to achieve in our entire lives the greatness, the honour, and the bravery you did in the last few minutes of yours.
